69 -- FIRE TRAINER BURN PLATFORM SIMULATOR SOL F08651-96-B-0045 DUE 052096 POC Mary Ann Ham, Contract Specialist,(904) 882-5165; Lonnie Oswalt, Contracting Officer. The Air Force Development Test Center (AFDTC) under simplified acquisition procedures intends to solicit competively, for one fire trainer burn platform. The platform will be used for live fire training, utilizing liquid propane gas to be installed in an existing training facility on Eglin Air Force Base. The system must have a minimum platform surface area of twenty five square feet. The system must utilize liquid propane gas, be computer controlled and computer monitored for safety. Computer supervised gas and temperature sensors must be functional within the facility that enable the system to be automatically shut down in the event that an unsafe condition occurs. The system must have a remote pilot or spark ignition system, generate a minimum of 10,000 cubic feet per minute of non-toxic training smoke with maximum of one foot of visibility, manual emergency stop switch/button located inside burn compartment and outside at controller/observer location. Automatic exhaust for ventilation system shall provide a minimum of 4000 cubic feet per minute to accomplish a one minute air exchange upon activation. The system must include flame generation, smoke production and realistic ambient heat conditions. Installation by the contractor, live fire training sessions, familiarization with operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the system are to be included in the bid. Required delivery time is sixty days after contract award. A standard commercial warranty must be provided. Responses to this synopsis should be provided to AFDTC/PKOS, 205 W.
