Engraving and Printing (BEP) plans to issue a solicitation for a
packaging system for coils of gummed and/or pressure sensitive postage
stamps ranging in size from 4 inches (10.16 cm) to 12 inches (30.48
cm) in diameter. The packaging system must be capable of shrink
wrapping the coils in transparent, tamper evident, polypropylene heat
shrink film (0.75 - 1.125 mills thick); inserting the shrink wrapped
coils into knock-down style corrugated shipping cartons and cases; and
automatically placing the shipping cases on standard two-way
accessible pallets. The packaging system must also be capable of
labeling the coils, cartons, and cases, as well as providing electronic
controls to ensure accountability of the stamp coils processed through
the packaging system. The Government anticipates awarding a Firm
Fixed-Price type contract. The scope of work will be for one (1)
packaging system with an option for one (1) additional system. The
solicitation will be available on or about April 30, 1996. Please

date. The requesting company's written request should include a
statement of the company's size status (i.e., Large, Small, Minority,
or Women-Owned). Telephone requests will not be honored. All
