Finn (703) 784-2976 SOLICITATION NOTICE. This project is UNRESTRICTED. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC), for this project is 1542 - General Contractors. Non-residential Buildings, Other Than Industrial Buildings and Warehouses. The size standard is $17.0 Million. The work includes the removal of existing concrete ledges and roof overhangs and flashing the remaining piece of ledge. New gutters, eave flashing and downspouts are to be installed where the roof overhang is removed and at other locations as indicated. Edges of existing membrane roofing are to be patched and flashed where the roof overhangs are removed. Concrete repair is also included in the project where the concrete items are experiencing spalling and cracking. This includes concrete columns, spandrels, loading dock, and any other item indicated. Other items included in the work are new metal guardrails and handrails at the loading dock and a new epoxy coating on exposed concrete surfaces as indicated. Critical items associated with the work include the protecting the building surfaces and surroundings and protecting employees and pedestrians entering and leaving the building. The projected date of availability of the solicitation is 26 April 1996. The projected bid opening date is 28 May 1996. Contractors within the local area are encouraged to pick up a copy of the plans and specs at the office of the Officer in Charge of Construction, Building 2004, Room 253, Quantico, Virginia. The hours of operation are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. There will be no charge for these documents, however, there will be only one set issued per contractor. Requests for plans and specifications and bidder's list should be made separately to avoid confusion. This also applies to requests for numerous solicitations. Please note that the Plans and Specifications will be issued on ''first come, first serve'' basis. The estimated cost range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. (0099)
