The Postal Service is seeking a source to provide managed network services for multiple network applications. The USPS expects the service provider to accept the existing router-based network as USPS-provided equipment and provide the USPS with complete network service and management. It is anticipated that service will have to be expanded to an additional 3,000 postal sites within the first six months of operations. These sites are geographically dispersed. The telecommunications networking service will also provide centralized remote management to local Associate Offices (AOs). There are approximately 7,000 larger AOs that will require connectivity; and an additional 30,000 to which the service may be extended. The USPS intends to issue a ''DRAFT SOW'' in the form of a Request for Comments. The draft SOW may be accessed through the USPS home page, in the section entitled USPS Purchasing Want Ads and Solicitations, on the Internet at www usps.gov/business/wantad.htm. It is anticipated that the Request for Comments will be available for viewing through the Internet, on or about April 22, 1996. No copies will be provided via print media.
