NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is seeking the services of an individual or organization with demonstrated knowledge of the Marine Mammal Protection Act, including the 1994 Amendments thereto. The contractor shall continue the Alaska fisheries registration system, full integration of the registration system with the State of Alaska commercial vessel licensing and fishing permitting system, continuation of the categorization procedure and development of annual lists of fisheries, development of a five-year schedule for observer coverage across the spectrum of Alaska Category I and/or II fisheries, the formation of a Take Reduction Team for Alaska, and continuing development of the NMFS policies and protocols for entering into co-management agreements for the management of subsistence takes of marine mammals by Alaska Natives. The period of performance shall be one year, starting approximately June 1, 1996, with option to extend two additional one-year periods. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside.
