tank-automotive and armaments command is seeking proposals from sources
interested in the medium tactical truck remanufacture (mttr) program.
The mttr program is a remanufacturing program for M809 and M939 series
medium tactical trucks. The acquisition will Cons ist of two (2)
Phases. Phase I will include the acquisi tion of a specified number of
prototype vehicles, opera tor training and support for Government
testing. Under phase I, up to three(3) contractors will be awarded
contracts. Phase I will include USMC requirements and an option for
Army requirements. During phase II, a single five year production
contract will be awarded. Competit ion for the phase II production
contract will be limited to phase I contractors only. Phase II will
include the remanufacture of up to 10,000 USMC (including possible
Navy) vehicles. The Army also plans to participate in this program. Up
to 10,000 Army vehicles may be included. This procurement will be a
remanufacture, with technology insertion, of M809 and M939 series 5 ton
tacticaltrucks. This notice is for the formal Solicitation of proposals
for the phase I prototype contract(S). A solic itation conference will
be Held 23 April 1996, in the Detroit, MI area. It is anticipated that
the issuance of the Solicitation will also be on 23 April 1996, or shor
tly thereafter. Proposals will be due 45 days after issuance of the
Solicitation, or approximately 7 June 1996. For information on the

listed below. The RFP will include/specify the required specifications,
including the required performance specifications for remanufactured
vehicles. However, as was identified in the previous synopsis for the
draft RFP, in order to receive a copy of the current technical data
packages ( TDP) for the M809 and M939 series vehicles and related
techical data, a $5,000.00 bid deposit is required. The bid deposit
will be refunded only to those firms submit ting a bonafide, timely
