remote VHF radio (80-250 MHz) Direction Finding (DF) capability at
various sites in the Chicago area with a command center. The system
receives transmitted radio signals at multiple remote DF sites. The DF
bearing date (3 degrees rms accuracy) is processed at the remote site
and transmitted in digitized form to a command center along with the
audio signal. In the command center the bearing data from multiple
sites is integrated at the control workstation into a composite display
on a map showing the area of surveillance as well as preselected
features and landmarks. The transmitting target is displayed with lines
of bearing from the Remote DF Sites receiving the transmission, along
with its automatically computed latitude and longitude. The system will
date, time and bearing stamp up to 24 hours of audio. It will also be
possible to remotely access the command center for fast response to
radio frequency interference. Bid packages are expected to be available
April 17, 1996. The price range is between $175,000 to $275,000. The
