The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a solicitation for Flight Upgrade Development and Engineering in support of the AEGIS Destroyer Program on a sole source basis to Gibbs & Cox, Inc., 50 West 23rd Street, New York, NY 10010. Gibbs & Cox, as the design agent for AEGIS destroyers, is the only source possessing the unique knowledge and relational data bases of both the lead and follow yard AEGIS DDG design necessary to perform these services. The proposed contract will have a base year of approximately 240,000 manhours with four option years consisting of approximately 265,000, 330,000, 355,000 and 385,000 manhours respectively for each option.
