Officer Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard is requesting for information
only, for planning purposes, on a Confined Space Monitoring System. A
solicitation will not be issued at this time, please call the above
point of contact for additional information. Confined Space Monitoring
System, a computerized system for communication with and monitoring of
personnel in confined spaces for safety. Equipment consists of a base
station and wireless remote tranceivers that constantly monitor at
prescribed user defined intervals. Equipment description: portable;
durable; industrial tested; able to penetrate ship's and submarine's
metal hulls and into tanks; wireless system; meet OHSA's requirements;
and should have a panic switch for emergencies. Equipment performance:
equipment should have an audible, visual, and also vibrator signals to
alert personnel of dangers; can be integrated with ships fire alarm
system; relays a signal to the person in the tank at set intervals; the
person in the tank is able to communicate back to control point that he
is ok; system must have an alert alarm system built in to be used to
communicate warnings in the event of emergencies; multiple users can
use the system at one time; and personnel in tanks and their safety
equipment can be monitored from one central location. Telephone:
