Pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, a Sole Source, Cost Type, Letter Contract will be issued to the National Academy of Sciences, 2101 Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. 20418. The contractis for a critical study to advise the Department of Defense (DoD) on its Ada programming language policy for military systems, and evaluate alternative means of achieving the desired objectives of enhancing discipline within DoD software engineering activites, and reducing the proliferation of programming languages used in DoD systems. A Request for Proposal (RFP) will not be issued for this requirement. A Statement of Work (SOW) is not available for this acquisition. See Note 22. (0066)
