Miller, Contracting Officer, (301) 496-8611. The National Cancer Institute intends to negotiate with Perimmune, Inc. for an 18-month extension of contract N01-BC-21075. The contractor currently performs animal experimentation for the ''Transplantation, Induction and Preservation of Plasma Cell Tumors in Mice & Maintenance of Special Mouse Stains.'' The extension will provide for a phase-out period to allow the Government time to consider the possible transfer of the work to a Government facility. Authority for this action is 41 USC 253(c)(1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1. Inherent duplication of cost to the Government and risk associated with moving the animals make competition unfeasible for this phase-out period. See numbered Note 22.
