61299-6000 IOC 99 -- ELECTRONIC COMMERCE/ELECTRONIC DATA INTERCHANGE The procurement
business process manager announced 25 Sep 95 that the Army materiel
command (AMC) is in the process of incorporatingec/EDI capability into
their contractual document generating system. This new capability will
allow US to exchange Solicitation and con-Tract award information
electronically between the Government andit'S vendors through the
Federal acquisition computer network. Our goal is to fully implement
EDI within the next two years and use It as a way of doing business.
The industrial Operations command (IOC) and the armament, chemical,
acquisition and logistics activity (ACA-LA) are conducting orientation
Sessions for its contractors to assist in the preparation of doing EDI
business with US. The orientation seminar will be provided in two
separate Sessions from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM March 5 and 6, 1996. There is
a $15.00 registration Fee perperson, payable on attendance. If you
