COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 26,1996 PSA#1538SYMPOSIUM ON ``LEAN LOGISTICS IN CONTRACT AIRCRAFT REPAIR'' POC Attn:
Annick Woodlock 912-926-9001. Warner Robins Air Logistic Center
(WR-ALC) is sponsoring a symposium on ``Lean Logistics in Contract
Aircraft Repair'' for contractors on 5 Mar 96, 8:00 A.M. to 4:15 P.M.,
at the Smith Community Center, Warner Robins, Georgia. Contractors who
previously have or are currently involved in Programmed Depot
Maintenance (PDM) work are urged to attend. WR-ALC is currently leading
an effort to evaluate and improve the Air Force Material Command's
Contract Aircraft Repair (CAR) process. The CAR process is critical and
integral to the effective execution of each ALC's primary aviation
repair and logistics support missions. This CAR Lean Logistics
Symposium will be comprised primarily of two parts: 1) an introduction
to Lean Logistics concepts presented by the Air Force and, 2) an open
forum for contractors to express their views on constraints placed on
them regarding CAR and how the CAR process can be streamlined to allow
contractors to more quickly and efficiently do their job. A
presentation on what has been done to date regarding the CAR Lean
Logistics project will also be presented. If interested in attending,
please contact Mr. Tim Annis, (912) 926-3620 or Mr. Ed Humphreys, (912)
926-7205 for more information and to confirm your attendance. Due to
facility limitations, attendance will be on a first come first serve
basis. If unable to attend, yet are interested in improving the CAR
process, please contact one of the above individuals for possible
survey opportunities. Contractor must bear all expenses associated with
the symposium; there is no intent implied or otherwise for this effort
to lead into an RFP. Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0556 19960223\SP-0006.MSC)
