Tysons Corner, McLean, Virginia sponsored by the US Atlantic Command in
conjunction with the US Army, US Marine Corps, the Office of the
Secretary of Defense for Munitions, the National Institute of Justice,
the Department of Energy, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and Sandia
National Laboratory. Conference goals to provide industry, policy
makers, and military planners an appreciation for the urgent
requirements for the development of non-lethal/less lethal weapons
systems; to provide insight into the real world operational experience
of U.S. troops involved in recent operations such as Somalia, Haiti,
Panama and now Bosnia; to provide a forum for the discussion on the
current status of non-lethal weapons requirements; and to provide an
understanding of the importance of non-lethal weapons to both the
military and law enforcement organizations. There will be many high
level speakers from the defense and law enforcement communities with
special addresses by General John J. Sheehan, USMC, Commander-in-Chief,
US Atlantic Command and the Honorable H. Allen Holmes, Assistant
Secretary of Defense (SOLIC). Author Tom Clancy is scheduled to speak
