WARFIGHTER: A CRITICAL ASSESSMENT The Assistant Secretary of Defense
for Command, Control Communication and Intelligence (C3I) announces the
rescheduled date for DOD Information Management for the Warfighter: a
Critical Assessment; which will be conducted at the Ritz Carlton Hotel,
Tysons Corner, VA on 29 February and March 1, 1996; the original
symposium was postponed for weather. The rescheduled symposium will
have the identical format and a majority of the speakers who were
scheduled for the original symposium. This symposium follows the
successful December 1994 offering, Corporate Information Management -
Enterprise Integration which concentrated on the technological basis
and rational for Information Management Programs. This event moves
beyond that stage and provides a detailed look at current programs with
great emphasis on architecture and functional impact on command and
control-status of resources, functions, and infrastructure are also
chosen for review. Since DOD Programs are deliberately designed to
leverage on commercial technology, hardware and software, industry is
called upon to provide the alternate keynote address followed with a
series of presentation addressing commercial technologies and
equipments that may be adapted to further DOD capability. A current
CINC provides the JCS assessment as to whether current programs serve
the warfighter. The program is closed with a panel discussion of
involved congressional staffer who provide the congressional
