602-3102. The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has a requirement for
the detail design and construction of the Landing Platform Dock (LPD)
17 program. NAVSEA is seeking a Full Service Contractor (FSC) to
complete the detail design, construction, ship systems integration and
logistics of the LPD 17 Lead Ship and up to two (2) options. The
Government is interested in initiating an IPPD approach with the FSC
for the life of the LPD 17 program. It is contemplated that a
Cost-Plus-Award-Fee contract will be awarded to fulfill this
requirement. The Request for Proposal (RFP) is expected to be issued on
or about 15 March 1996. The RFP will be posted on the INTERNET.
Interested parties can access this server through a FTP. This can be
accomplished in the following manner: FTP session to host
ftp.navsea.navy.mil. The login ID will be CONTRACT and CONTRACT should
be used as the password. Upon login, you will be in file area
PUB/CONTRACTS. The subject RFP, including related files, can be then
downloaded. Interested parties should be in binary mode when copying
files rather than ASCII. A limited number of hard copies will be
available on a first come, first served basis beginning on or about 15
March 1996 at NAVSEA Industry Liaison Office, Room 5E40 in Zachary
Taylor Building (National Center #3), 2531 Jefferson Davis Highway,
