81 -- SHIPPING CONTAINERS SOL FSIS-4-W-96 DUE 041296 POC Contact Point, Julie Adams, (202)720-9891 The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service has a requirement for insulated shipping containers for various inspection related testing programs. The containers will be used for the transporation of frozen and refrigerated tissue samples from meat and poultry plants to FSIS laboratories. The containers should be low cost, lightweight, suitable for overnight mail, and be capable of maintaining temperature requirements for at least a 24 hour period. FSIS intends to award an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract for these supplies. The contract will have a base period of performance of 6 months and four one-year option periods. Containers shall be ordered on an as-needed basis. The solicitation documents for this procurement will be available after March 8, 1996.
