The International Boundary and Water Commission, U.S. Section (USIBWC), plans to acquire on the basis of Other Than Full and Open Competition an Ardco Model 650TC Cab with Woodsman 85'' Brush (Hog) Cutter, Model Number 6003PH (Both in accordance with commercial specifications). Delivery 90 days from date of award. Quantity: One (1) each, assembled as a single unit prior to shipment and delivery to FOB (El Paso, Texas). This is a Notice of Intent to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract, for the above listed items/equipment to Pettibone Corporation, Barage, Michigan, under the authority of FAR 6.302. The proposed action is for supplies/equipment for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition: The specified model is the only known model capable of cutting dense brush, foliage, and other forms of vegetation up to 6' in height and 4'' in diameter, via a vertical shaft reduction head mechanism. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability in meeting this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any and all proposals received (product literature is preferred in lieu of unique technical proposals) within 30 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued. No additional synopsis will be published. Any such solicitation will be issued to all firms that respond to this synopsis of intent. (043)
