The purpose of this presolicitation notice is to announce the intention of the U.S. Navy to execute a sole source modification with Textron Marine and Land Systems, New Orleans under contract N00024-93-C-2202, for the initiation of a Service Lift Extension Program (SLEP) for the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) Program. This procurement will require design, development, installation and testing of modifications to LCAC and LCAC systems to extend the service life of the crafts from twenty to thirty years. Efforts under this program will include development and incorporation of main engine upgrades, the design development and testing of a new skirt system, engineering to upgrade communications and navigational systems, modifications to the hull of the craft as well as other modifications to the LCAC. Design changes will be incorporated into Craft 91 under existing contract N00024-93-C-2202. (0043)
