US POSTAL SERVICE 475 L'Enfant Plaza, SW Room 4541 Washington DC 20260-6238

70 -- DEVELOPMENT OF SOFTWARE THAT PRODUCES FILL-IN FORMS POC Contract Point, Diane Matthews, 202/268-2492, Contracting Officer, Kathleen A. Duffey, 202/268-2662 (No Collect calls). The United States Postal Services is seeking information from vendors who can provide or develop software that produces fill-in forms. The objective is to provide postal customers with computer generated fill-in mailing statements for the purpose of entering bulk mailings into the mail stream via the USPS home page on the World Wide Web. Currently, the postal Website offers ''print only'' capability for 22 mailing statements. The following items are system requirements: specific forms will be identified for conversion to a fill-in format; a programming language that can provide download capability of the fill-in mailing statements to multiple PC platforms is desirable; there must be a capability to complete fill-in mailing statements while logged on to the postal Website; forms on the USPS public Website should have download capability to PC Macintosh environments; regular updating and revision of posted forms will be needed for rate changes and rate reclassification; help screens will be needed with instructions for the novice computer user; a ''read-me'' file with general instructions will be developed and posted on the postal Websit; mailing statements that have pre-printed rate, the calculation will occur from the number; if a miling statement has a fill-in rate, the calculation will be from that amount. Future considerations include the inclusion of help screen interface to the electronic Domestic Mail Manual and on-line data transfer directly to USPS systems. Any required software licensing conditions should be included in the response. This RFI is not a solicitation, however vendors that respond will be informed in the event a solicitation is issued. Send responses to Nate Zucherberg, Room 5541, 475 L'Enfant Plaza, West, SW, Washington, DC. 20260-6804. Responses should be received at this office by March 1, 1996. (0043)
