The National Cancer Institute, Division of Cancer Prevention and
Control (DCPC), Chemoprevention Branch, in its annual requirement to
seek new sources, is soliciting proposals for Master Agreement Holders
for the Phase I Studies of New Chemopreventive Agents. The objective
of these studies is to determine the parameters and characteristics of
toxicity in humans, the safely delivered dose, and the basic clinical
pharmacokinetics of agents emerging from the NCI chemoprevention agent
development program so that subsequent Phase III risk reduction trials
can be appropriately designed. CURRENT MA HOLDERS FOR THIS PROGRAM ARE
NOT REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A PROPOSAL. MAA/RFP N01-CN-65008-70 will be
available electronically on or about February 26, 1996, and may be
accessed through either the NIH Gopher, or the NIH Home Page by using

note that the MAA/RFP for this procurement has been revised to include
only the Statement of Work, Sample MA, special MA requirements, the
Technical Evaluation Criteria, and proposal preparation instructions.
All information required for the submission of a proposal will be
contained in the electronic RFP package. Following proposal submission
and the initial technical review process, offerors whose proposals
were judged ACCEPTABLE will be awarded an MA; they will then be
eligible to compete for work as Master Agreement Order (MAO) RFP's are
issued. Responses to the MAA/RFP will be due on or about April 10,
