The Government intends to procure the following under Simplified Acquisition procedures; The purpose of this contract is to enhance endangered bird species reproduction through protection from nest parasitism by the brown-headed cowbird in support of military training opportunities on Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton. This contract will promote the recovery of two endangered and one threatened bird species, as required by the Endangered Species Act, resulting in increased flexibility for land use/management decisions in support of military training activities and facilities development/maintenance on Camp Pendleton. This contract will provide the Marine Corps with the removal of brown-headed cowbirds on Marine Corps Base, hereafter referred to as the Station. The work will principally involve retrieving cowbird traps from a warehouse on the station, setting up the traps in riparian areas throughout the Station, maintaining the traps, handling trapped birds and removing the traps to storage after the nesting season. Request for quotation will be available February 12, 1996. This is a Small Business Small Purchase Set Aside, and the anticipated award date is on or about March 12, 1996.
