The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a contract modification for additional Planning Yard Services for modernization and maintenance of FFG 7 Class Guided Missile Frigates on a sole source basis to Bath Iron Works Corporation (BIW), 7000 Washington St., Bath, Maine 04539-0998. BIW as the leadyard and builder of 24 FFG 7 Class ships is the only company with the requisite familiarity and knowledge of individual FFG 7 Class ship configurations and design as well as a detailed understanding of the construction techniques and practices used to build these ships. The proposed contract modification will have a base year of approximately 36,520 manhours with three option years consisting of approximately 75,958, 73,240 and 72,750 manhours respectively for each option.
