Evaluation Board. The contract for Architect-Engineer (A-E) services
consists of the preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates
for the design of the new Main Post Office in East Northport, NY
11731-9998. Approx. bldg. size: 23,000 SF; Site Size: 3 acres;
Location: Larkfield Rd, e, East Northport, NY. The estimated total
project construction cost is $3.0 million. The contract will be a firm
fixed price negotiated type and will contain an option to the U.S.
Postal Service for Title II Construction Contract Services. Firms
applying should have expertise in AutoCAD (Release 12 or 13) Design
will be based on USPS furnished AutoCAD based Medium Standard Building
Design drawing files. Successful A/E Firm will be responsible for site
adaptation, structural, HVAC, plumbing and electrical design. Firms
applying should be architecturally oriented, with staff or consultants
in civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and traffic engineering.
Firms should show experience in construction and construction
management. A/E firms that have the qualifications to perform the
services described previously are invited to submit a completed SF 255,
Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire for Specific
Project; a completed SF 254, Architect-Engineer and Related Services
Questionnaire; and a completed SF 254 for each of its proposed
consultants to the office shown above, postmarked not later than Feb.
12, 1996. The selection will be conducted by using both the submitted
SF 255 and SF 254s. Interested firms with more than one office must
indicate on their SF 255 the staffing composition of the office in
which the work will be performed. Consideration will be given to firms
responding to this advertisement in accordance with the instruction in
the following order of preference: (1) local (within 25 miles of site);
(2) within Suffolk county, State of New York; (3) within Nassau county,
State of New York; (4) all others. The contract contains a requirement
for evidence of current errors and omissions insurance. The U.S.
Postal Service reserves the right to issue multiple contracts under
this award for new construction design within a period of three years.
To the fullest extent, the U.S. Postal Service welcomes the
participation of women and/or minority owned/operated A-E firms. It is
prohibited to pay any fee, commission, percentage, or brokerage fee to
any person or firm contingent upon or resulting from award of contract
for this project. Personal visits and phone calls for the purpose of
discussing this project are not permitted. No other general
notification of this project will be made. Submissions will not be
