F -- DECISION ANALYSIS SCIENCE MODELING FOR APPLICATION AND FIELDING SELECTION APPLIED TO METAL DECONTAMINATION TECHNOLOGIES Sol. HCET010. Due 021096. POC: Dr. M. A. The Hemispheric Center for Environmental Technology (HCET) at Florida International University (FIU) is seeking qualified suppliers to aid in an engineering study for the comparative analysis of surface decontamination technologies for structural steel. The study is being performed to support the United State Department of Energy Office of Science and Technology. The study will be conducted at the campus of FIU in Miami, Florida. Four surrogate types will be tested. The four type of surrogate will include: painted I-beams, painted plates, rusted I-beams, and rusted steel plates. The surrogate will not be radiologically contaminated. Each technology will be tested a minimum of four hours of actual operating time for each surrogate type. The number of surrogates used during the four hour test period will depend on the specific technology being tested HCET will provide sufficient number of surrogates for each test period. The technologies for inclusion in the study are: scabbling system for metal and flashlamp technology. The qualified suppliers will be asked to optimize the operation of the technology as it is applied to each surrogate. The qualified firms shall have five years minimum experience in nuclear decontamination and two years minimum operations experience with the given technology. The qualified firms are to to provide references of nuclear decontamination jobs completed. Interested firms should send a Letter of Qualification stating how the firms meets the minimum requirements, including address, contact person, telephone and fax numbers to the attention of Hemispheric Center for Environmental Technology at Florida International University, Attention: Dr. M.A. Ebadian, Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering and Design, University Park, Miami, Florida 33199 no later than 02/10/96. The Letter of Qualification will be used to prequalify proposed firms. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available to the qualified firms approximately February 25, 1996. (012)
