SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED ELECTRONICALLY; THEREFORE, THERE IS NO NEED
TO RESPOND IN WRITING WITH REFERENCE TO THIS CBD NOTICE. The Defense
Information Technology Contracting Office (DITCO), Scott AFB, IL, will
procure through an electronic bulletin board, the Information
Technology Acquisition Bulletin Board System (ITABBS), a Security
Intrusion Detection System (IDS), Electronic Entry Control System
(EECS) and Badging System to be acquired and installed in building 857,
at the Defense Megacenter Montegomery. This will be a contractor
installation using Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Contractor
Furnished Equipment (CFE). The security system is being acquired to
support the protection of critical DoD resources located within
building 857 Maxwell AFB-Gunter annex, Montgomery Alabama. The security
system shall be installed and tested within 30 days after contract
award. The anticipated RFP release date is 28 Dec 95 with proposals
expected to be due on 29 Jan 96. Vendor proposals in response to this
RFP must be received in hard copy. Vendors will be able to dial into
the electronic ITABBS, and download the RFP, check the status of the
RFP, submit questions, receive amendments and other RFP related
correspondence. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which
shall be considered. Information from the electronic bulletin board
system will either be in ASCII or Microsoft Word for Windows 6.0
format. RFPs are usually a compressed (PKZIP) MS Word file requiring
you to have compatible software to extract the file. The ITABBS can be
accessed by any FIP vendor through standard hardware and software. To
access ITABBS, the necessary communications parameters are 8 data
bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, with modem speeds of 1.2 - 14.4 KBPS.
ITABBS requirements will remain posted until the deadline has passed
for submission of vendor proposals. Interested vendors are encouraged
to access the ITABBS via telephone number (618) 256-9200 to view all
