J -- DOCKSIDE REPAIRS TO USCGC LAUREL (WLB-291) SOL DTCG80-96-B-3FA760. Due 021396. Contact Alison Schnitzer, Contract Specialist at (212) 668-6441. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary for the Dockside Repairs to the USCGC Laurel. Work for these dockside repairs is to be performed at the vessel's homepier. The work which may be performed includes but may not be limited to the following minimum items: 1. Repair Gooseneck Vent and Renew Vent Deck Penetration, 2. Flush Piping and Overhaul Pumps for Air Condition System, 3. Fabricate and Install Condensate Tank and Modify Fan Coil Unit Condensate Drain Piping, 4. Renew Piping and Overhaul Cooling Pumps for Refrigeration System, 5. Repair CPO Bath Deck Drain Piping, 6. Provide Temporary Berthing, 7. Provide Temporary Logistics. The proposed contract will also contain indefinite items including, but not limited to: 1. Clean Shipboard Ventilation Systems and Preserve Engine Room Supply Ventilation Intake Plenums. USCGC Laurel's homepier is Jacksonville, Florida. Vessel is 180 feet in length. USCGC Laurel's Availability Schedule is 22 April 1996. There will be a non-refundable charge required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard in the amount of $100.00 for requested drawings and publications. The proposed contract listed here is open to both large and small businesses. Plans and specifications will be issued on or after 12 Janaury 1996. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. For Minority, Women-owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
