Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, Maryland,
has a requirement for a total of eighteen (18) bed plates (also
referred to as base plates and surface plates). The material used for
each bed plate shall be a chrome molybdenum, copper alloyed iron with
a 35,000 to 45,000 psi tensile strength. Brinell hardness shall be
between 180-200 for each plate. The top of each plate shall be machined
to a 125 microfinish with a flatness of +/- .005 over any ten feet
(10') square area. The side, end and bottom pads of each plate shall
have a 250 microfinish. Each plate shall contain leveling system
installers to be used in conjunction with anchor bolts for coaxial
leveling and bed-plate hold-down. Flush mounted covers shall be
supplied for each anchor bolt pocket. The points for leveling and
anchoring of each plate shall be evenly spaced and symmetrically
located approximately three feet (3') in any direction. An anchor bolt
shall be supplied for each point location for each plate. For each
plate the T-Slot throats shall be as-cast to 1.12'' running
longitudinally on twelve inch (12'') centers starting six inches (6'')
in from each edge. For each plate the T-Slot shall end in a gutter at
one end and dead-end at the opposite end. The gutter shall not have a
drain hole. Each T-Slot shall have a 1 1/2'' clamping configuration.
The dimensions of the plates vary. Five (5) plates shall be 8' x 15' x
7''. Five (5) plates shall be 6' x 15' x 7''. Three (3) plates shall
be 6' x 9' x 7''. Two (2) plates shall be 6' x 18' x 7''. One (1) plate
shall be 9' x 10' x 7''. One (1) plate shall be 8' x 9' x 7''. One (1)
plate shall be 8' x 12' x 7''. DELIVERY: On or about 01 JUL 96.
