Change from: ``THIS IS A TOTAL SMALL DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS
SET-ASIDE,'' - to - ``THIS IS A COMPETITIVE 8 (A) SET-ASIDE.'' This
procurement is a Competitive 8 (a) Set-Aside as established by Section
8 (a) of the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. 637 (a). Only those firms
meeting the Small Business Administration's (SBA) criterion, and have
previously been certified by the SBA as an ``8 (a) Contractor,'' are
eligible to complete for this procurement and ultimately be awarded a
subcontract form the SBA. For this Procurement, it has been determined
by SBA that competition will be restricted to 8 (a) Firms which have
SIC Code 1523 among their approved SIC Codes and which are serviced by
the following SBA District Offices: Birmingham, AL, District Office;
Nashville, TN, District Office, Atlanta, GA, District Office;
Nashville, TN, District Office; Atlanta, GA, District Office; and
Jackson, MS, District Office. Firms having previously submitted payment
for Plans and Specifications and are no longer eligible to bid under
these restrictions of the 8 (a) program may submit a request for a
refund of payment for Plans and Specifications. In general, the work
shall consist of the following: Providing a new 16 inch raw water
supply line; provide remotely controlled shut-off valves in each of 3
existing 72 inch return line laterals and in the 36 inch return lines;
provide one 60 inch supply line and one parallel 60 inch return line,
each with a remotely controlled shut-off valve; provide an addition to
the cooling tower basin with a 42 inch connecting line and remotely
controlled isolation valve; repair roads at pipeline crossings and
restore construction sites; provide control and instrumentation
systems; provide regen/blowdown ejection system form the steam plant
consisting of storage tank, pumps and piping. Critical Path Method
(Network Analysis System) is required. Bid documents are available on
or about 11 January 1996. Costs are as follows: Plans half size $12.00.
Specifications $39.00. Estimated cost of work is between $1,000,000 and
$5,000,000. IMPORTANT: Response cutoff date for all interested
addresses is 04 January 1996. Your response by this date is critical.
The quantity of Plans and Specifications reproduced shall be determined
based on the number of positive responses received on or before the
cutoff date. Extras will not be run. Don't delay, reserve your copy
