FL 32407-7001 52 -- LOW NOISE FLUXGATE TRIAXIAL MAGNETOMETERS SOL N61331-96-R-0016
DUE 101296 POC Robert D. Kuczenski, Contract Specialist, (904)234-4864
Carol A. Dreger, Contracting Officer, (904)234-4863. The Coastal
Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, NSWC, has a requirement for Low
Noise Fluxgate Triaxial Magnetometers with the following external
triaxial magnetometer specifications: Axial Alignment-orthogonality
better than +/-0.5 degree relative to mounting case; Input Voltage:
+/-15 VDC +1/-10 percent; Input Current: (40 milliamperes;; Field
measurement range: +/1100,000 nanotesla; Accuracy: better than +/-1
percent at +/-90,000 nanotesla; Linearity: better than +/-0.005 precent
of full scale; Sensitivity: 50 micro volts/nanotesla; Scale Factor Temp
Shift: (0.01 percent full scale/degree Celsius; Noise: (=0.015
nanotesla RMS/Hz @ 1 Hz; Output Ripple: (=5 millivolt peak to peak @
second harmonic; Analog output @ zero field: (+/-0.025 volt (+/- 250
nanotesla); zero shift with temperature: (+/-0.5 nanotesla per degree
Celsius; Susceptibility to perming: (+/-3 nanotesla shift after +/-20
Gauss applied, (+/-12 nanotesla shift after +/-50 Gauss applied; Output
impedance: 470 ohms +/-5 percent; Frequency Response: -3db @ )300 Hz;
Weight shall not exceed 200 grams; Size of contained sensor case shall
not be greater than 4 cm x 4 cm x 16 cm; Connections: external
magnetometer connections shall be made through nine (9) pin
non-magnetic male ''D'' type connector utilizing the following pinout:
Pin #1 shall be the + Power In, Pin #2 shall have no connection, Pin
#3 shall be a floating signal ground, Pin #4 shall be the power and
case ground, Pin #5 shall be the Z axis output, Pin #6 shall be the X
axis output, Pin #7 shall be the spare ground, Pin #8 shall be the Y
axis output, and Pin #9 shall be the -Power In.; Each sensor element
shall be no larger than 1.9 cm x 1.9 cm. Whether the magnetometer uses
two or three sense elements (manufacturer dependent), the area
occupied by the sense elements shall not exceed 2.54 cm.; A faceplate
shall be attached to each triaxis magnetometer indicating the
orientation or the magnetic fields (i.e., which direction is considered
positive for each axis).; Each magnetometer shall be identified by
model number and a unique serial number. The model and serial numbe
shall be permanently attached to the magnetometer's housing and easily
readable. A manual shall be included with the magnetometer describing
setup, operation and calibration instructions, and schematic diagrams.
Diagrams shall be included which demonstrate the mechanical information
(case dimensionns, connectors, etc.). In addition, diagrams shall show
the exact location and size of the sensor elements. A bid sample will
be required to allow the government to verify that critical
dimensional, connection, and low-noise characteristics are met by the
proposed magnetometer. A sample of the manual to be supplied with the
units will also be required with the bid sample. All requests for the
solicitation must be in writing and may be faxed to Robert Kuczenski at
(904)234-4251. No telephone requests will be accepted. (0340) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0205 19951207\52-0001.SOL)
