Command is conducting a market survey to identify sources that have
information pertaining to new toilet innovations made in recent years.
The Army has three distinct toilet requirements. The first toilet
shall be brought with soldiers for initial deployments into areas
without water or toilet facilities. It shall be lightweight,
collapsible, portable and utilize bags for containing the waste. The
second toilet shall be a portalet type toilet that is quickly assembled
in the field. The portalet's waste container shall be removable, and
able to withstand high temperatures if it becomes necessary to burn the
waste in the container. The third type of toilet required is a reduced
water flush toilet. Interested firms must respond in writing and be
received within 15 days of this notice and furnish sufficient technical
