(904) 882-4685, ext 334. INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. The
Civil Engineering Products Division of the Weapons, Air Base and Range
Product Support Office is interested in acquiring information on
commercially available powder transfer systems for use with dry
chemical fire extinguishing agents. The systems must meet the following
requirements: (1) Be able to transfer potassium bicarbonate dry
chemical fire extinguishing agent (commonly known as PKP) from
fifty-pound storage containers at ground level to a dry chemical
storage tank mounted on an aircraft rescue fire fighting (ARFF)
vehicle, (2) Have sufficient capability to lift PKP to a height of 12
feet (ground to top of storage tank), (3) Transfer a minimum of 150
pounds of dry chemical per minute, and, (4) Be lightweight and
transportable by not more than two people and once on site, can be
placed into service in less than ten minutes by these two individuals.
Firms having such transfer systems are requested to submit
literature/brochures outlining the specifications/capabilities of these
systems to ASC/VXO, Attn: Ms Angela Staton, 314 W. Choctawhatchee Ave,
Suite 103, Eglin AFB FL 32542-5717 within 15 days of the date of
publication. Responses will be evaluated and a solicitation list
established of those firms determined capable of fulfilling the
Government's requirements. At a later date, the Government may acquire
one or more units for initial testing and a subsequent purchase of an
unspecified number from one or more of these vendors. This request for
information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and shall not be
construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of
the Government to acquire any follow-on acquisitions. The Government
does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or
otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlement to payment
of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as
a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of
such information. The Government reserves the right to reject in whole
orin part any industry input as a result of this RFI. This RFI does
not constitute the solicitation of proposals. Authority to enter into
negotiations to award a contract for the contemplated effort has not
yet been received and funds have not as yet been authorized nor
appropriated. The Government recognizes that proprietary data may be
part of this effort. If so, clearly mark such restricted or proprietary
data and present it as an addendum to the
non-restricted/non-proprietary information. For further information

this synopsis should state whether they are or are not a small business
