36 -- SUPPLY OF EQUIPMENT FOR DESTRUCTION OF CLASSIFIED WASTE SOL DMA402-96-R-0001 DUE 011596 POC Joan Reagan, Contract Specialist, 314-260-1206 or Paulette Martin, Contracting Officer The contractor's equipment must destroy, at a minimum, 1500 pounds of waste per hour (12,000 pounds per 8 hours of feed). The destruction process may be burning, shredding, pulverizing (dry process), chemical decomposition, or mutilation sufficient to preclude recognition or reconstruction of the classified waste. The estimated quantity of waste to be destroyed is 60 Tons of classified plastic, magnetic tapes, mylar film, carbon paper and typewriter ribbons and 125 Tons of classified paper, with four equal option quantities of each category. The two categories of waste will be priced separately and solicitation will contain FAR 52.215-34, Evaluation of Offers for Multiple Awards. The resulting contract will be firm fixed price. The contractor's facilities shall allow access for DMA peronnel witnessing, surveillance, handling and direct feeding into the destruction device. Contractor personnel shall not witness, handle, or direct feed the classified waste. Contractor's labor will be limited to forklift, destruction equipment operation and facility equipment operation. Waste destruction periods will be scheduled by DMA with the contractor's agreement in advance of delivery by DMA using a Government vehicle. The contractor must meet security requirements, have adequate destruction equipment and capability, be located within a 500 mile radius from 3200 South Second Street in St. Louis, and comply with federal and state environmental regulations in order to be considered for the award. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal which shll be considered by the Agency. (0326)
