48 -- SATELLITE COMMUNICATION SERVICES SOL WASC-6-455 DUE 120595 POC Randall Brown 206-526-6226, FAX 206-526-6025 USDOC/NOAA/WASC Purch WC34 intends to award a sole source purchase order to COMSAT Corporation to provide continuous commercial satellite communication service via an INMARSAT-C for data position reports. Responsible sources may submit a proposal indicating their ability to provide satellite communication service within 15 days of the date of this announcement. Proposal must demonstrate that vendor has capability to provide satellite communication service to a fleet of 165 fishing vessels in the Pacific using ''C'' communications. Offerors must process information from a U.S. based earth station in order to guarantee confidentiality. Written responses must include detailed statement of capability, and include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating ability to meet the above requirements. Responses must be detailed to provide agency evaluation to determine offerors' capability to perform the service. failure to submit documentation will result in the Govt procedding as stated above. A determination by the Govt not to open the requirement competitively will be based upon responses to this notice and is solely at the Govt's discretion. This is a small purchase action. (0324)
