G. Michael Dodd, 703/602-7904. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to
issue orders on multiple occasions over the period of Basic Ordering
Agreement N00024-96-G-5210 with Kollmorgen Corporation, Electro-Optical
Division, 347 King Street, Northampton, MA 01060-2390. Orders will be
issued for material and services required for the evaluation and
implementation of product improvement/equipment changes for the MK 46
Optical Sight (OS) System. This includes conducting evaluations and
tests to determine the feasibility and/or applicability of proposed
improvement/equipment changes. It also includes prototype fabrication,
proofing and/or testing of engineering change kits; document changes
(new and revised drawings, publication, etc.) and technical data;
training and training material; and bond room and inventory management.
Orders will be issued pursuant to U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1). Kollomorgen
Corporation is the orginial designer, developer and sole producer of
the MK 46 OS System. It is the only company which possess the
knowledge, experience, tooling and equipment necessary to support this
effort. No other source has the technical qualifications and the
necessary resources to perform the work described herein, nor will any
other supplies or services satisfy the Navy's requirements. Kollmorgen
is the Designated Overhaul Point and Depot Repair Facility for the MK
46 OS system. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities
