Agency,( DMA )has a requirement to procure Hardware/Software
Maintenance for the DMA Production System. The DMA announcement in the
28 September 1995 CBD provided advance notice of sources sought for
hardware/software maintenance of the DMA Production System. This notice
announces that a DRAFT STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW) will be issued on 21
November 1995. This draft SOW will include the Government's
requirements together with the overall equipment lists of currently
covered systems. In order to streamline the procurement process, the
draft SOW WILL BE AVAILABLE ELECTRONICALLY VIA INTERNET TO ALL
RESPONDEES TO THE DMA SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICES, AS WELL AS SOFTCOPY (3
1/2 INCH DISC USING ''MICROSOFT WORD VERSION 6.0'' AND ''MICROSOFT
EXCEL VERSION 5.0''). When electronically issued, the draft RFP may be
found at the DEFENSE MAPPING AGENCY HOME PAGE, under ''Business
Opportunities'' at the following address: HTTP://WWW.DMA.GOV/'PC.HTML.
DMA is seeking comments/responses to this draft SOW VIA INTERNET ONLY
at the identified Internet address no later than close of business on
20 December 1995. As previously stated, this acquisition is for
performance of hardware and software maintenance for the DMA Production
System, and its relative clone, the PETROS system which is based at
Military Survey in Feltham, United Kingdom. The DMA Production System
(DMA/PS) is composed of the Digital Production System (DPS), and other
smaller related digital based production systems. The DPS comprises
the major protion of the DMA/PS and consists of both production and
service segments. All equipment is operational and is being used to
produce Mapping, Charting and Geodesy (MC&G) products or used to
support maintenance activity. The DPS Designated System Environment is
the operational production environment shared across three production
sites. The DPS is supported by the: (1) Integrated Development and
Maintenance Environment (IDME) at DMA production sites; (2) the DMA
Depot; (3) and an approved Configuration Management System (CM). The
IDME is currently distributed across the three DMA sites (ethesda MD,
Reston VA, and St. Louis MO), and provides for integrated hardware and
software support for all DPS functionality. THIS IS NOT A FORMAL
SOLICITATION, NOR AN OFFICIAL REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, AND THERE IS NO
INTENT TO AWARD A CONTRACT based on information obtained from this
announcement. The Government's objective in making this announcement,
is to obtain a listing of interested Contractors who are capable of
providing operations maintenance and technical services for the DMA/PS
(located in Bethesda MD, Reston VA, and St. Luois MO), and for its
virtual clone, the PETROS System (based at Military Survey, Feltham,
England); as well as provide interested parties an opportunity for
input/comments on DMA's operations and maintenance philosophy and
technical requirements. Please send responses to this notice to the
