The Miamisburg Mound Community Improvement Corporation (MMCIC) seeks qualified national marketing/sales firm to provide national sales network and marketing/sales mentoring support for several small emerging technically oriented companies at the Mound Advanced Technology Center. Project Information: The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Mound Facility is located within the jurisdictional limits of the City of Miamisburg, Ohio. When the facility became operational in 1948, it was the first permanent atomic energy facility in the nation. Mound evolved into an integrated production, development, and research site performing work in support of DOE's weapons and energy related programs (with emphasis on explosive, nuclear, and energy related technology). Due to the end of the Cold War, the Mound plant ceased its DOE mission operations. The intent is to transfer the site to the local community for commercialization. The Miamisburg Mound Community Improvement Corporation is the agency charged with the economic development of the site. Currently, this economic development effort has spawned the development of several specialized high tech businesses. The MMCIC serves as a conduit to these businesses. Types of Businesses to be represented: The marketing effort will be conducted on behalf of small businesses specializing in the following technical fields: 1) thermal, chemical, and particle-size analysis, 2) physical metallurgy, 3) non-destructive and destructive testing, 4) environmental conditioning and dynamic testing, 5) surface/elemental analysis and surface modification, 6) advanced welding/joining of metal and ceramic combinations, 7) laser technologies, 8) calorimetry of reactive and energetic materials, 9) metrology, 10) ceramics. Markets Sought: The Miamisburg Mound Community Improvement Corporation seeks access to wide and varied high tech niches including, but not limited to, the following industries: micro-electronics, environmental, aerospace, automotive, pharmaceutical, pyrotechnical, cosmetic, and medical. Search Criteria: Interests include the qualifications of the firm, qualifications and availability of a national sales force, project manager qualification and availability of the other team members, ability to meet standards and scope of work, experience in technically oriented marketing/sales campaigns and access to national networks, references and other special considerations and fee structure.
