Administrator C -- FINISH GRADING AND PLACING OF BEAM TUBE SLAB, SUPPLY OF THE BEAM
TUBE ENCLOSURE, AND CONSTRUCTION OF PAVED ROADS The California
Institute of Technology plans to award a contract in Hanford,
Washington in support of the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave
Observatory (LIGO) Project. The contract will consist of the following
items. Item 1 - Placing of a concrete slab, approximately 5 inches
thick, 14 feet wide and five miles long. The slab elevations will be
held to close tolerances. Item 2 - Manufacture and delivery to the site
(excluding installation) precast concrete enclosures that will fit on
the concrete slab. The enclosures will be approximately 5 inches thick,
14 feet wide and 10 feet long, and of a parabolic or other suitable
shape. There will be approximately 2,600 sections to be delivered to
the site. Item 3 - Approximately 5 miles of a 20 feet wide Multiple
Bituminous Surface Treatment paved road. If additional clarification is

will be available on or about 15 November 1995 for a $100.00
non-refundable fee. The bid package will contain information concerning
a scheduled pre-bid conference to be held in the Hanford, Washington
