Description of content: The requirement for obligatory status is related to Article 4 (technical requirements) of the above-given standard containing limit parameters (weight, width of the carrying straps reinforcement, school satchel carrying capacity); safety considerations of children involved in traffic as pedestrians (signal and reflector elements on school satchels); consideration of health aspects (dimensions and shape, reinforcement of the back section, construction, materials, and quality of school satchels). 7. Objective and rationale: The requirements for school satchels contained in this updated standard will be required for obligatory certification. 8.
