Performance period to commence approximately January 22, 1996, and shall be completed within 35 calendar thereafter. Basic contract items will include Hatch Cover Renewal, Watertight Doors Upgrade, Potable Water Tanks Preservation, Boom Valves Renewal and others. In addition there will be four option items, Fuel Tanks Gauging System Installation, Net Reels Hydraulic Controls Renewal, Reefers Ventilation Sys Installation, Main Head Drain Piping Modification. Vessel will be available for inspection December 5, 1995, at the National Marine Fisheries Service in Pascagoula, MS.Characteristics of NOAA Ship CHAPMAN: Length Overall - 127 feet; Beam (moulded) - 29 feet - 6 inches; Draft (maximum) - 14 feet; Displacement - 520 tons; Propulsion - Diesel, Single screw; Cruising Speed - 11 knots; Electrical Service - 210 kw, 21-/440 volts AC; crew size - 18 persons.
