Yerger, Contracting Officer, (816)426-7267 ext. 231 Services to perform the augmentation of the Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS), backup of essential elements of the ASOS and the data continuity program at the National Weather Service Office in Evansville, Indiana. The successful contractor will be required to provide an adequate number of National Weather Service (NWS) certified ASOS cooperators to augment and backup essential elements of ASOS on a continuous basis, 24-hours daily. The augmenter program consists of manually adding data to an automated surface weather observation that are beyond the observing capability of ASOS. The back-up program consists of evaluating and reporting data normally evaluated and reported by ASOS. The base period of this contract will be a eight-month period from February 1, 1996 to September 30, 1996 with one option twelve-month period from October 1, 1996 to September 30, 1997.
