He can be reached at Area Code (612) 370-2115 Under the US Grain Standards Act and the Agricultural Marketing Act, the US Dept. of Agricluture (USDA), Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration is authorized to test and approve equipment used in the official grain inspection system. This notice announces that GIPSA intends to acquire a minimum of two (2) instruments and a maximum of seven (7) instruments, based on image analysis technology, to be used for grading rice and other possible grading activities. This notice also announces that GIPSA may standardize the inspection of rice and other grading activities using the selected instrument. A firm, fixed-price, requirements contract is anticipated. The solicitation is to be released on, or about, November 6, 1995. Date of award through September 30, 1996 with a one (1) year renewal option.
