Box 4067; FAX 591-411-7214; Phones: 591-2-50729 and 591-42-55243 The Government of Bolivia (GOB), funded under the Agency for International Development Mission in Bolivia, CORDEP 511-0617 Project, is seeking qualified suppliers for the purchase of the following genetic material: INTERNATIONAL PURCHASE: four million (4,000,000) palm heart germinated seeds, sixty four thousand (64,000) guinea-plantains vitro plants (VTPs), (variety resistant to Panam disease). LOCAL PURCHASE: six thousand (6,000) banana, variety: Grand Naine, Williams and Guayaquil (VTPs); four hundred fifty two thousand five hundred (452,500) banana plantlets, variety: Grand Naine, Guayaquil; three million three hundred thousand (3,300,000) pineapple suckers, variety Smooth Cayenne; eight (8) kilos passion fruit seeds (different varieties); seven thousand (7,000) kilos forages grass's seeds (Brachiaria SP, Desmodium SP, Phuevaria SP). A firm fixed price contract in U.S. dollars is anticipated. Vendor must demonstrate ability to meet all GOB requirements for phytosanitary restrictions, phased shipments, and export packing for overseas shipment. The packing for shipment must fulfill the necessary technical conditions to guarantee cuttings' survival and avoid handling damage during shipment. First shipments are needed in middle of December 1995. Any prospective offerors who wish to request a copy of the detailed solicitation regarding this notice must do so within 15 days of this notice and must include sufficient technical documentation to establish a bona fide capacity to meet the requirements of the government. The solicitation document will only be provided to those firms whose request contains clear and convincing documentation that the interested source can meet the requirements of the government. If no affirmative written responses are received to the effect that identical or equivalent material is available from the current authorized geographic source (000 ), an order may be placed with supliers from Bolivia or under 941 geographical codes. ''No less than 10 percent of the total value of the contract will have to be subcontracted to Gray Amendment entities (U.S. socially and economically disadvantaged, including women-owned, businesses; historically Black colleges and universities; U.S. colleges and universities with at least 40 percent Hispanic American students; and U.S. private voluntary organizations controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, including women.) To help identify potential subcontractors, a list of all organizations requesting a copy of the solicitation will be sent with each solicitation document. Organizations are encouraged to indicate whether they are Gray Amendment entities when requesting the solicitation and may indicate that they do not wish to be included on the list. By providing the list, USAID does not endorse the listed organizations as being capable of carrying out the activity, nor does USAID verify the claimed status of the organizations known prior to the issuance of the solicitation document. Proposals shall include plans reflecting no less than 10 percent subcontracting with the above-defined entities. Proposals not including such plans will be considered to be nonresponsive. The preferred method of distribution of USAID procurement information is via the Internet or by request of a solicitation on a 3.5'' floppy disk (WordPerfect 5.1/5.2 format).
