Verdon, 301-227-2700, Fax 301-227-2218 The Defense Mapping Agency (DMA) intends to negotiate a contract on a sole source basis with Timeplex Federal Systems, Inc., Fairfax, VA., for maintenance support for Integrated DMA Telecommunications System (IDTS) equipment. The maintenance support provides firmware upgrades, technical assistance to DMA staff in the operation, use and troubleshooting of the equipment, and depot repair/replacement of faulty equipment. Timeplex is the only supplier of the proprietary firmware upgrades and is the only firm with the proprietary information, specialized test equipment and expert technicians required to provide this maintenance support. The estimated period of performance for this contract is 5 years. Authority for this sole source procurement is U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Firms that recognize they can perform the required services described above are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification with supporting evidence to the Contracting Officer within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis. The requirement to competition based on any information provided, is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responsible sources will be given full consideration.
