Christine Trigg, Industrial Partnership Office, MS C331, Los Alamos, NM
87545, TEL: (505) 665-6846, FAX: (505) 667-4098. The University of
California which operates the Los National Laboratory (LANL) under
contract to the Department of Energy (DOE) is seeking an industrial
partner(s) to participate in the development and application of a new
technology for the detection of halogenated hydrocarbons. Industrial
partners are being sought to enter into a technology transfer agreement
to commercialize this technology. This may include such methods as
licensing, Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADA)s,
Funds-in-Agreements, etc., but is not limited to them. Prospective
partners must demonstrate a strong background in environmental field
monitoring instrumentation, process monitoring instrumentation or air
quality monitoring instrumentation. Interested parties must also
demonstrate product marketing capability and sound financial backing
for this partnership. using a novel reaction process in conjunction
with commercially available technologies, the currently configured
monitor is capable of measuring a wide variety of halogenated
hydrocarbons including but not limited to carbon tetrachloride,
fluorobenzene and bromoform. The monitor is capable of measuring these
components in air in a real time or near real time manner.
Furthermore, this detection technology does not rely on the input of
any external compressed gases to support the detection process. Any
company that is interested in pursuing this opportunity or that wishes
to receive more information concerning this program should respond
with a brief statement describing the company's technical expertise;
manufacturing and marketing capability; financial resources; estimates
of existing environmental instrumentation, process monitoring, or air
quality monitoring market share;p previous technology transfer
experience; and motivation for participation in the program. The
statement of interest must be dated within 30 days from the date of
this notice. (296) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0016 19951024\A-0016.SOL)
