Y -- PAINT TURBINE UNIT #2 AND SURGE TANKS UNIT #1, GARRISON DAM NORTH DAKOTA SOL DACW45-96-B-0010 DUE 120595 POC Contact Contracting Division at: (402)221-4266. Work consists of removal and disposal of existing coatings of red lead primer with top coats of vinyl, cleaning and preparation of ferrous surfaces, and application of vinyl paint to interior ferrous surfaces. Areas include scroll case, scroll case extension, wicket gates, stay vanes, stay rings, runner and draft tube liner of Power Unit #2; interior ferrous surfaces of the surge tank risers of Power Unit #2; interior ferrous surfaces of the two surge tanks of Power Unit #1; and interior ferrous surfaces of the surge tank risers of Power Unit #1. The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) Turbine-Power Unit #2 Scroll Case and Scroll Case Extension (Unit #2) - 7,100 ft, Draft Tube Liner (Unit #2) - 1,100 ft, Wicket Gates (Unit #2) - 950 ft, Stay Vane and Rings (Unit #2) - 800 ft, Runner (Unit #2) - 1,700 ft, Risers-Power Unit #2 - 7,300 ft, Surge Tanks-Power Unit #1 - 79,000 ft, Risers-Power Unit #1 - 7,300 ft. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work on two scheduled outages as follows: Surge Tanks and Risers Unit #1: 1 APR 1996 TO 31 MAY 1996. Tank Risers-Unit #2 and Paint Turbine Area-Unit #2: 3 SEP 1996 to 4 OCT 1996, with final cleanup and completion of work on 15 OCT 1996. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work within scheduled outages and completion date. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bid sets will be available on/a November 3, 1995. Half-size plans and specifications will be furnished upon request. All requests for solicitation packages should be made in writing no later than 14 days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished if supply is available. It has been determined that the number of sets be limited to 1 (one) per firm (additional copies will be the responsibility of the requestor).
