Objectives of contract: Demonstrate and evaluate the efficacy of an in-situ bioremediation system that uses low doses of alternate electron aceptors to enhance intrinsic anaerobic bioremediation at fuel-contaminated sites. The Contractor shall conduct a demonstration of BTEX bioremediation under anaerobic conditions at Naval Weapon Station Seal Beach using nitrate, sulfate, and carbonate as the electron acceptors. The data shall be used to demonstrate the technical viability of anaerobic bioremediation, develop cost data, and produce a technology transfer package for distribution to Navy activities.
