The work repairs to East wing of Building 12 consisting of asbestos
removal; removing and providing new partitions; providing handicapped
ramps, wheelchair lift, and toilets; replaceng and providing new
acoustical ceilings; replacing pluming fixtures and associated piping;
upgrading the existing 2-pipe fan coil system by providing new
fan-coil units, new conditioned ventilation air systems, new dual
temperature piping, pump, heat exchanger and controls; replacment of
electrical wiring; installing new light fixtures; and incidental
related work. Estimated Cost Range is $500,000 and $1,000,000. The
Standard Industrial Code is 1542. The related Small Business Size
Standard is $17 million. The proposed contract listed here is being
considered 100% set-aside for Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB)
Concerns. Interested SDB Concerns should provide in writing to the
Contracting Officer as early as possible, but not later than 15 days
after receipt of this notice, specifically: 1) a list of references
past and present government/commercial contracts, similar to the work
described in this notice, which includes the contract number, title of
contract, dollar value, name of person to contact, and telephone
number, 2) a positive statement of self certification as a SDB Concern,
and 3) a statement of capability to obtain the required bonds. If
adequate interest is not received from SDB Concerns, the solicitation
with be issued on an unrestricted basis and another notice will be
issued. Therefore, replies to this office are requested from all
interested business as well as SDB Concerns. The Bid Opening Date is on
or about 28 Decmber 1995. Submit requests by fax for receiving plans
and specifications when they become available on or about 22 November
1995 to (202)685-8288, Attn: Bob Roth or they may be picked up in
person from Building 166, West Side, 1st Floor, Washington Navy Yard.
There is no charge for plans and specs. Only one set per firm. Please
