The Naval Sea Systems Command proposes to acquire approximately 6,285 manhours during FY96 with an option for 6,285 manhours during FY97 of design engineering support for the Ammunition Handling Subsystem (AHS) for the PHALANX CIWS. The Martin Marietta Armament Systems facility in Burlington, Vermont has been the only source of design agent support for the Ammunition Handling Subsystem (AHS) for the PHALANX CIWS since 1992, and has furnished AHS hardware from the beginning of the PHALANX program. A solicitation will be issued to Martin Marietta Armament Systems Department of Burlington, Vermont to provide this requirement. See Note 22. (0285)
