COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF OCTOBER 12,1995 PSA#1450NEW SYSTEMS RELIABILITY ASSESSMENT STUDY The Reliability Analysis
Center (RAC), which is sponsored by the Defense Technical Information
Center (DTIC) and operated by IIT Research Institute (IITRI) for over
20 years, is the DoD Information Analysis Center (IAC) for the
collection, analysis and dissemination of reliability and
maintainability data. The RAC is currently under contract to Rome
Laboratory to investigate reliability assessment methodologies that
utilize data and information available from process monitoring,
software reliability assessments, empirical data on similar systems,
process yield data, and test data. The result of this study will be the
development of a consolidated methodology which will combine initial
reliability predictions with the best available empirical data and
information on the processes used in design, manufacturing and
requirements definition to assess new system reliability. RAC is
requesting support from both military and commercial equipment
suppliers/users who would be willing to provide, on a proprietary or
non-proprietary basis, this type of data. To submit data or obtain
additional details regarding this study, write or call Mr. William
Denson at IIT Research Institute, Reliability Analysis Center, 201 Mill
Street, Rome, NY 13440. Phone: (315)339-7038, e-mail:
wdenson@mail.iitri.com, Fax: (315)337-9932. Potential providers of the
requested information should note that the RAC routinely handles data
identified as proprietary through the use of Non-Disclosure
Agreements. Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0584 19951011\SP-0005.MSC)
